Holo Summer Week: Visit me in Prism

Today I'm presenting you the last color I own from China Glazes Kaleidoscope collection. As you've noticed I only got 4 from this collection as I was able to get my hands on 9 of the OMG collection and I felt like most colors were very similar. I'm very happy to own some polishes from the Kaleidoscope collection even though they require more coats than the OMG ones.

So without further a due....Visit me in Prism

Visit me in prism is a really light silvery lilac as you can tell in the bottle, although it mostly looks like a soft silver on the nails. This really required 3 coats as the color is very sheer but can be build up to full opacity. I haven't used any base/topcoat, since you don't really need it. Visit me in Prism is also fast drying but a bit slower than the OMG ones.

I'm very happy that I was able to get my hands on this as the true silvers from the Kaleidoscope and the OMG collection were sold at ridiculous prices and I also wasn't sure if a true silver would even suit my skin color. In the end I'm really happy with my decision and haven't had any regrets.

Do you like to wear silver nail polish? What do you think of this one?

Holo Summer Week: BFF

Yeah just four more days of Holo Summer Week to go, have you chosen your favorite yet? I hope you like some pink cause today I have another one of the OMG collection polishes for you, named BFF. And as you could probably tell by my tiny hint and the name of the polish, it of course refers to us girls as this term is mostly used by younger women.

Best Friends Forever is a blue-based pink and really has the perfect name. It does remind me of a group of teenagers, but the color can even be worn several years after that as it not a bubblegum pink or so. This is again a one-coater which is as I've mentioned before just awesome as the bottle could pretty much last forever.

I like this color a lot although this is not my true BFF (couldn't help myself sorry), since that's another color from this collection. All in all I think this is a gorgeous pink, not to bright and not to pale, just to wear to pretty much everywhere.

What do you think? Is this a perfect pink?

Holo Summer Week: Let's do it in 3-D

Over half of the Holo Summer Week you guys, time really flies. Today I have my third nail polish from China Glazes Kaleidoscope collection for you, Let's do it in 3-D

Picture time!

Let's do it in 3-D is a grey holo polish with a scattered finish as with all of the Kaleidoscope polishes. I've used three coats with this one without any base or topcoat.

As you guys have probably noticed I really love the holographic effect as sunlight hits it as it looks so sparkly. However I don't really like this color with indoor lighting as it becomes this weird grayish color which is really not that flattering to me.

Do you like this effect on grey polishes?

Holo Summer Week: DV8

Almost at the end of the Holo Summer Week, hope you've enjoyed it so far. Couldn't post anything yesterday due to bad wifi connection. Today I have another beautiful nail polish from China Glazes OMG collection released in 2009. It's called DV8 and it is one of the darker colors, a beautiful teal with a very good visible linear holographic effect.

I have just used one coat for this one and although it doesn't any base nor topcoat I did have some underneath due to some irregularities of my nail which are unfortunately still visible.

This is really one of my favorite colors, I absolutely love it even though it's not always really wearable. I'm quite sad though as I don't want to use too much of it as it's discontinued and very hard too find.

What do you guys think of this gorgeous holo teal?

Holo Summer Week: FYI

Yay I'll be flying to Marmaris, Turkey in a few hours and as I won't have time to post later on I decided to upload this post now. Continuing on with Holo Summer Week, I'm presenting you with another gorgeous polish from the China Glaze OMG collection, named FYI. I will actually bring this one with me on vacation this time.

FYI is a nude beige holographic nail polish perfect for people who love the holo effect, but prefer a nude manicure or can't wear bold colors at for example the office.

FYI was opaque in two coats and was, as all polishes from the OMG collection, quick drying which is even more great since you don't have to wait forever until it dries. I was kinda lazy with thoroughly removing my base coat and it clearly showed so I'm sorry...lesson learned.

At first I didn't really liked this color and almost regretted getting it as I didn't wear it at all, but photographing it for the blog made me realize that it's actually quite nice. I really like it in direct sunlight, but still think it's a bit boring for me in the shade.

What do you think? Is this the perfect nude color with a twist?

What did I buy? My shop log

This week I was searching for essential stuff to bring with me on vacation. I needed my beloved Mac concealer as I just finished my previous one and I was in serious need of hair removal items (who wants hairy legs on the beach right?). I also just can't help myself and always find my way to the nail corner (addict remember).

So what did I buy exactly this week? Of course my MAC concealer as mentioned above. Lucky me there was a sale on the new Veet Electrical Roll-on kit as it regularly costs around 25 Euros and was now half priced at the Dutch drugstore Kruidvat *insert happy dance*.

The generic brand (drugstore Kruidvat in The Netherlands) also had a nice offer being that you bought 2 hair removal items for four Euros, so I just purchased two packs of cold wax strips.

In the nail corner where the brands Essence and Catrice are located I picked up a black  Essence eyeliner, some handgloves from Essence for hand treatments and an eyeshadow base from Catrice. I also finally want to try a red color on my lips as I always wear a nude and decided to test a matt lipstick and a gel tint from Essence.

What beauty or product essentials did you buy this week?

Holo Summer Week: TTYL

Yay finally found a vacation yesterday evening and will leave tomorrow afternoon to Marmaris, Turkey. I'm really happy as it's an all-inclusive 5* resort and the weather forecast is nice too. I will do my best to post while I'm there though.

Today I have another polish from China Glaze's OMG collection, TTYL. It's a lovely corally pink and I think it's perfect for the summer. As with all other nail polishes of this collection, this one also has a linear holographic effect.

TTYL is again a one coater which is awesome, because this means that a bottle will last a long time. I didn't use a topcoat but I did have a layer of base coat underneath it though which wasn't as dry as I'd hoped.

PS: notice the website in the last picture, this is why you shouldn't edit stuff when you're sleepy ... haha lol

Anyway... what do you think of coral pinks and holos?
